One of the objectives of the project led by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera is to recover traditional agricultural terraces in the Collserola mountain range in order to reintroduce farming activity and contribute to the reduction of wildfire risk.
In collaboration with the Collserola Natural Park and other local stakeholders, 156 hectares with potential for agricultural recovery have been identified, representing approximately 2% of the park’s total area.
These terraces are spread across several municipalities in the range and include different types of agricultural land: fruit trees, almond trees, carob trees, and olive trees.
The restoration of these terraces will be carried out progressively over the coming years, with the aim of building a more fire-resilient and biodiverse agroforestry mosaic.
