‘A test for cancer immunotherapy’ wins the 2018 Vanguardia Science Prize

La Vanguardia readers have chosen the best research conducted in Spain: A test for cancer immunotherapy, a study by Aleix Prat and Manel Juan of Barcelona's Hospital Clínic. Second prize went to Jose J. Lucas and Raúl Méndez from the Center for Molecular Biology Severo Ochoa and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Barcelona, ICREA on A key protein in the origin of autism; and third prize went to Aitor Mugarza and César Moreno of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology/ICREA, for Nanoporous graphene, a membrane with exceptional properties.
The honorary prize, which is in its ninth edition this year, is a joint initiative of La Vanguardia and the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation to provide visibility to outstanding research and to share science with citizens.
The awards ceremony for this year’s edition will be on 4 April at La Pedrera.
