Fri, 06/28/2019 - 18:00
Starting on 15 September, a new edition of the 2019-2020 Musical Residencies series gets underway at La Pedrera. The chosen performers are Albert Cano Smit, a pianist with a promising international career; the renowned clarinetist Miquel Ramos; and for the first time, the tessitura of the countertenor Víctor Jiménez Díaz, who has a distinguished international career. And in composition, Raquel García-Tomàs.
Thirty-eight candidates were considered in the selection process of the residents for the eighth edition of Musical Residencies, all of them extraordinarily talented young musicians who stand out on the local music scene and are among the post-graduates of the music colleges of Catalonia, as well as some who are abroad furthering their studies or already working professionally.
With 7 seasons and 21 residents under its belt, this programme has become a benchmark among young performers, who identify it as a programme that promotes musical excellence among young talents and aids in the professionalisation of prominent performers. At the same time, critics and audiences are pleased to attend the annual programme of 9 concerts featuring the Musical Residents.
The new concert season will be from September 2019 to May 2020, with an event the third Sunday of every month (except January) at 6 pm.
