Montserrat-Coll de Can Maçana

Located in the town of Bruc and within the Mountain of Montserrat Nature Park, this space occupies almost 7% of the nature park and is the main access point to the trails and rocky peaks in this lesser-known part of Montserrat, where the monoliths and vertical forms create a unique, awe-inspiring labyrinth.

Wildlife

Wild goat

(Capra pyrenaica hispanica)
The impressive silhouette of the wild goat can once again be spotted on the peaks of Montserrat after the species was successfully reintroduced to the massif, where it had disappeared. Fortunately, we can now spot small herds in the wilder areas.

Peregrine falcon

(Falco peregrinus)
This bird of prey, a skilled hunter of birds mid-flight, nests on the quietest rocky walls in the space.

Flora and vegetation

Pyrenean violet

The mountain's holm oak, Aleppo pine and Scotch pine groves are still recovering from the fires in 1984 and 1986, as are the rupicolous plants typically found on walls and in channels, such as the endemic rosette mullein.
