
Laia Herrero Nogareda
She received the Youth and Science scholarship in 2009. She works as a Scientific Officer at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), reviewing the risk of active substances present in pesticides. She has been an environmental scientist at penman Consulting and a research assistant in the Environmental Toxicology group at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), where she has studied the toxic effect of insecticides. She studied the Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences (Chemistry, Toxicology and Health) at the same university with the scholarship of excellence from La Caixa, and previously studied the Degree in Biotechnology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She has also conducted scientific research in Bolivia and Costa Rica on environmental pollution. She has collaborated in the last three editions of the Youth and Science.
