This weekend, MónNatura Delta started to host a special activity for evenings this summer which will last until 14 September. With the name “Contalles del Delta” [Stories from the Delta], participants can discover the customs, traditions and food of the Delta de l’Ebre.

The Delta de l’Ebre is a special region which harbours many surprises. One of its treasures is known as “tardet”, the time when the landscape is transformed and becomes tinged with all the colours of the sunset.

This dramatised tour will help visitors appreciate the shifting colours in the Delta landscape while an errant character talks about the people, the landscape and the traditional dishes in the Delta.

Food plays a very important role in “Stories from the Delta”. In the last part of the tour, while the story of the farmer's wife who used to take care of this space is told, visitors will be offered a sampling of different dishes and gourmet products from the region. Right as visitors are enjoying the magic of the sunset, they can also sample the famous mussels from the Delta and discover the special taste of a typical rice from the region paired with a glass of wine.

The experience is rounded out with the spectacle of watching the birds from La Tancada and the former Sant Antoni salt flats, which can be watched calmly from 360-degree telescopes installed at the Lookout Point.
