Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation launchs the guide “Eating During Cancer Treatment” which includes recipes and tips that allow the lung cancer patient to maintain a good nutritional status during the treatment of the disease.
The guide, available in digital format (available in catalan and spanish), sets out key points of the diet in this particular cancer, dietary recommendations for possible side effects, food-drug interaction and recipes specially designed to help you eat in the most nutritious way possible when the different side effects of treatment.
The publication aims to reach patients and their relatives / caregivers, but also healthcare staff who can be a good prescriber and help improve the quality of life of their patients.
Eating during cancer treatment
'Dietetic-culinary recommendations during the treatment of lung cancer' is the sixth volume of the collection 'Eating during the treatment of cancer' promoted by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation and which has already published specific guides on breast cancer, cancer of head and neck and colorectal cancer, as well as two first guidelines of general recommendations, and myths and beliefs about food during cancer treatment.
The aim of the collection is to continue growing with new guides that address the specificities and needs of different types of cancer. The aim is to help people who suffer from it to maintain an optimal nutritional status and to explain the basics of eating once the disease has been diagnosed.
The new guide has been developed by the Alícia Foundation, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation and with the expert collaboration of the Functional Unit of Clinical Nutrition of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).
