The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation has opened a new exhibition space at MónNatura Delta, aimed at raising awareness among visitors about the fragility of the Ebro Delta, how it is evolving in the face of the climate emergency and possible solutions to mitigate its effects. The exhibition also highlights the resilience of the flora and fauna in this unique ecosystem.
This new initiative is part of the Bioresilmed project, led by the Eurecat technology centre, which promotes bioeconomy and climate resilience in Mediterranean landscapes. The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation is one of the project partners, alongside other organisations such as CREAF, the Aland Foundation, the Empresa i Clima Private Foundation, SEO/BirdLife and the Rovira i Virgili University. The project is supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
An interactive experience to explore the future of the Delta
The new exhibition space is organised into two routes offering an educational and interactive experience:
Vulnerability and solutions for the Delta: On walls A and B, visitors can explore the causes of the Delta’s vulnerability – such as climate change and water management – and discover possible solutions through interactive displays and a large central screen. This route encourages understanding of the importance of restoring natural systems and adopting agroecological practices to ensure the Delta’s sustainability.
Flora and fauna of the Delta: On walls C and D, the focus shifts to the Delta’s biodiversity, showing how species adapt to environmental changes. Through texts, illustrations and information on endangered species, visitors learn about the impacts of climate change on migration, nesting and other adaptive behaviours.
With this new space, MónNatura Delta reaffirms its role as a leading centre for environmental education and awareness, inviting visitors to reflect on their personal role in preserving this valuable ecosystem.
