The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation remains committed to scientific education and training for the coming generations through its summer programmes. This year, over 400 young students will have the unique opportunity to do a full immersion in the world of science and research through one of the programmes the Foundation organises.
The Foundation’s summer science programmes aim to encourage talent and interest in science among pre-university students, giving them an enriching experience that will help their academic and professional development in the future. In partnership with prestigious research centres, hospitals and top-notch universities, the participants get the chance to work on projects in a variety of fields, including the biosciences, quantum science, aerospace engineering and medicine, among others.
One of the most noteworthy programmes is the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC), an international programme that is still accepting applications through 12 April. Moreover, the programme for two new science stays in aerospace engineering and videogame design for health will be accepting applications soon.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation runs a variety of programmes to suit the different levels and interests of the students, from stays through the various phases of the Young People and Science programme to science stays at Món Natura Pirineus and Món Sant Benet.
The programmes are designed for young students from their final year of compulsory secondary schooling through their second year of Baccalaureate who are passionate about careers in science and technology and committed to contributing to the future of the science sector in Catalonia and the world.
