This academic year, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation is launching the Tàndem Schools project at three schools in Girona east: Font de la Pólvora, Vila-Roja and Sagrada Família. This is an educational improvement project which entails a global transformation in the schools since it affects their learning spaces, methodologies, culture and organisation.
This year, the Tàndem Schools project is coming to Girona - it has been operating at the Salvador Sunyer i Aimeric secondary school in Salt for one year - with a project in which the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation is teaming up the participating schools with the La Ciutat Invisible Foundation and Temporada Alta.
All three primary schools will incorporate performing arts strategies into their methodology for three school years, getting the entire teaching staff to work with professionals from the A Tempo- Arts i Formació project to exchange knowledge, experiences and teaching materials.
This focus on the performing arts as a tool of educational transformation is committed to being student-centred, generating profound, diverse and meaningful learning experiences.
The presentation took place today at one of the schools in the neighbourhood, Font de la Pólvora, and featured Marta Lacambra, director general of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation; Joaquim Nadal, president of the La Ciutat Invisible Foundation; and the three school directors: Pilar Marco, director of the Font de la Pólvora School; Laura Chaparro, director of the Vila-Roja School; and Susanna Berengena, pedagogical director of the Sagrada Família School.
