
Miquel Rafa
A graduate in Biology from the UAB, he has developed an experience as a naturalist and ornithologist for over 35 years, with a preference for mountain environments. He has also traveled extensively around the world, observing nearly 3,000 species of birds. A member of the ICO and the ICHN, he has carried out professional work on monitoring birds in Catalonia (for example, the SOCC of Montserrat-Can Maçana) and has been co-author of the Atlas of Nesting Birds in Catalonia 1999-2002 , from the Atlas of Birds of Catalonia in Winter 2006-2009 and the new Atlas of Nesting Birds 2005-2018. He has promoted, coordinated or participated in numerous bird conservation projects, such as the reintroduction of the blue cock in the Empordà, the stork common in various parts of the country and the reintroduction of the black vulture in the Pre-Pyrenees.
