Jordi Dantart
Graduated in Biology from the University of Barcelona; specialized in Iberian Lepidoptera; author of more than a hundred articles on these organisms and co-author of a book on the diurnal butterflies of Andorra; he belongs to various national and international lepidopterological societies, including the Catalan Society of Lepidopterology (SCL), with which he collaborates as a member of its editorial board and in the research carried out by this organisation. He has studied diurnal butterflies and in this field he collaborates regularly in the monitoring project applied in Catalonia, the well-known CBMS. However, most of his research has focused on nocturnal butterflies, a group in which he has mastered the determination of species of many families. Since 2004 he has coordinated the so-called Butterfly Nights, organised once a year by the SCL, which have allowed him to gather a large amount of information on these insects.
He currently combines his work as a high school teacher with research on Lepidoptera.
