NANO-THON: work nano to power the future!

The world is facing a global sustainability crisis. At the current rate, human life as we know it may not be sustainable on Earth in just over 100 years. The NANO-THON was the first hackathon organized by the Fellows Committee, with the collaboration of the Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2), on the occasion of the Annual Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CANN).

The NANO-THON invited 10 multidisciplinary teams of young students from scientific and technological careers to face the challenge proposed by the organization and find a scientific solution that can solve it. Participating teams had 8 hours to discover the potential of the nanoscientific revolution that will change the future, and had to present a scientific article at the end of the day with the proposed solution.
